The Bernstein’s are coming! The Bernstein’s are coming!

No, it’s not a war threat from the Middle East, it’s the return of “the Christmas show to see in Asheville!” (Tony Kiss, Asheville Scene), starring Tracey Johnston-Crum, voted WNC’s Best Actress in the Mountain Xpress’ Annual Best of WNC Poll!

The crazed and lovable Bernstein family are back, just as drunken, dysfunctional and spectacular as ever — and for the first time ever they will be performing on the main stage at Asheville Community Theatre! “…we…are…so…so…oh….oh…ah…oh my god!” Judy Bernstein said via telephone while entertaining a male fan.

“We’re certainly excited to have the Bernstein’s back again, and to be at ACT,” producer Chall Gray said. “We know that Katie Anne Towner (returning as director) has put together a fabulous show of sketches, songs and surprises, and in fact, Baby Jesus told me personally that this year he will make a surprise appearance just for Asheville audiences that they will never forget!”

The Magnetic Theatre, fresh off a hit run of their production of Landscape With Missing Person at the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival, has been widely lauded as one of the most innovative and exciting theatre companies in the South. The Asheville based company focuses on producing original work, and this production marks another installment of their most well-known and popular show, featuring the ever-theatrical and ever-misbehaving Bernstein clan.

Limited Run! Due to the limited run of five performances, advance ticket sales are very strongly recommended. Last year more than 200 people were turned away from the show! And, as usual, the Bernstein’s are not even remotely suitable for children.
