The North Carolina Banjo Clinic will happen November 11 and 12

Dates: All day – November 11 (Friday) & 12 (Saturday), 2016.  Door open at 8:30 am.

Location: Crosspoint Church. Corner of Chestnut Street and Cumberland Avenue, Montford neighborhood, Asheville. GPS at 119 Cumberland Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.

Clinic cost: 2-day clinic price until October 1 is $275.00. Afterwards is $295.00. Daily Rate is $175.00/ day.

Payment terms: Cash, check or credit card.

Styles taught: Bluegrass and Old Time (Clawhammer) Banjo.

Levels of instruction: (4) Levels – New to the banjo (Novice), Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced.

  • Novice: New to the instrument. No experience. Never held a banjo before.
  • Beginner: Limited experience. May know primary chords, a few rolls and possibly a few tunes.
  • Intermediate: Experienced. Knows some instrumentals. May have band experience. Understands the basics. Can jam. Seeking more consistent sound and timing. May have trouble finding the melody. May have plateaued.
  • Advanced: Serious players. Can play most songs up to speed without sacrificing technique, tone, or clarity. Ready for challenging instruction and new ideas. Beginning to establish an individual style. Seeking a professional sound.

What to bring: A 5-string banjo, picks, capo writing material. (We highly recommend electronic tuners).

Banjo setup: Available both days. 

Banjo rentals: Available with prior notice.

Private lessons: Available with the instructor of your choice, both days.

Unable to attend? Registration fees are refundable.
