SPONTANEOUS INTENTION — New work by Barbara Fisher, Kenn Kotara and Rand Kramer

There is an inherent tension between spontaneity and intention. Fisher, Kotara and Kramer balance this conflict, vacillating between risk and excess, chaos and order, impulse and intent. The process is both intuitive and thoughtful, directed but fluid, combining a serendipitous approach with an underlying knowledge of the formal elements of painting.  Their work, framed via a similar process, can be to some degree deconstructed, revealing the artist’s inner thoughts and actions. Emphasized by particular materials and personal narratives, Fisher, Kotara and Kramer contribute a layered meaning and poetic expression through “Spontaneous Intention.”
