TERI LEIGH TEED’S HEALING SPIRIT ART SELECTED FOR INTERNATIONAL HERSTORY 2018 EXHIBITION

Teri Leigh Teed’s fine art photograph, “May Flowers”, part of her “Healing Spirit Art©” portfolio, has been selected for an Award of Excellence in Manhattan Arts International’s 18th annual HerStory exhibition, which runs from June 20 – August 20, 2018 online at www.manhattanarts.com. Teed is one of 57 contemporary women artists from around the world chosen for the juried show.

“All artists chosen for this important exhibition meet our standards of excellence. They have mastered their mediums and developed a cohesive body of work in a signature style that reflects their unique creative vision. They have also acquired substantial career credentials, among other requirements”, states Renée Phillips, Juror/Curator & Director, Manhattan Arts International.

Teed is also one of nine artists selected to be part of an article about Healing Art in the HerStory 2018 exhibition, and her photograph and accompanying artist’s statement are featured on the Healing Power of Art & Artists website www.healing-power-of-art.org. The art selected for the story either addresses spiritual, health, social or political concerns or was instrumental in the artist’s healing process. The artists raise awareness and serve as catalysts for transforming the body, mind and spirit of individuals and society.

A multi-dimensional, award winning artist, Teed lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina near Sylva. Along with her visual artwork, Teed is also a songwriter and the author of “Seasons of the South, the Original Homegrown and Musical Storytelling Show©”, which raises awareness for regenerative agriculture. Her stories and poetry are featured in numerous publications, including DailyGood.org.

“Healing Spirit Art©” has been the name of Teed’s artwork since 2005. She blends fine art nature and landscape photography, stories, poetry, and songs with positive, inspirational and healing thoughts and energies. Her logo features a mountain laurel branch, which represents her love for the western North Carolina mountains she calls home. Teri Leigh Teed is a featured artist (photography, literature and music) in the North Carolina Artist Council and her photography is featured in numerous publications including the Editor’s Picks on BlueRidgeParkwayDaily.com.

A graduate of Sotheby’s Institute, London, Teri received her M.A. Decorative Arts and Historic Interiors from the University of Buckingham, England and was employed by HM Queen Elizabeth II. Her artwork has been exhibited in numerous juried shows, including the Piccolo Spoleto Festival and the Smoky Mountains Sampler exhibition, and she is a recipient of Awards of Excellence in Manhattan Arts International juried exhibitions. A Featured Artist in the Manhattan Arts International programs, she is also a contributing author and artist for the Healing Power of Art and Artists online magazine.
