New sounds for a new world – “The Chamber Project” With a French Flair

The music of France reflects a diverse array of styles. In the field of classical Music, France produced several prominent romantic composers, while folk and popular music have seen the rise of the chanson and cabaret style. The earliest known sound recording device in the world, the phonautograph, was patented in France by Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville in 1857. France is also the 5th largest market by value in the world, and its music industry has produced many internationally renowned artists. This program for Clarinet & Piano includes music by some of the greatest composers of all time. André Messager, Claude Debussy, Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel, Camille Saint-Saëns, Frederic Chopin, and Maurice Jeanjean.
The Genius of France: This is a musical survey of the brilliance and range of French Composers and other renowned composers who lived and worked in France. The great works by these celebrated composers during this period were the cradle of modern music!

Another French Delight thatis a “crossover” composition by the jazz pianist and composer Claude Bolling. The composition, originally written in 1973, is a suite of seven movements, written for classical flute, jazz piano, string bass, and drums.
This suite was recorded in 1975 by Claude Bolling, classical flautist Jean-Pierre Rampal, bassist Max Hédiguer, and drummer Marcel Sabiani, and originally released as an LP album by CBS Masterworks Records and Columbia Masterworks. In the U.S., the album was nominated in 1975 for a “Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance.”
