Asheville, N.C. – Prolific local artist Jonas Gerard has partnered with Biltmore Farms Hotels to feature a rotating gallery of work located within the lobby of the DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville-Biltmore, in the heart of Biltmore Village. The selection of work was personally curated and installed by the artist himself. The selection of paintings will be changed several times throughout the year and is open to the public for viewing.
Gerard operates two large galleries in Asheville’s River Arts District. Known as an Abstract Expressionistpainter and sculptor, Jonas thrives in a world of colorful acrylic paintings filled with bold strokes, dynamic textures and an uncanny ability to draw deep emotional connections to the viewer.
“It’s a great honor to have the privilege to exhibit my work in the distinguished atmosphere at the Doubletree Biltmore,” stated Gerard. “This particular exhibit of recent paintings exemplifies the total range of my creative experience in terms of techniques, styles, subject, size, shapes and feelings. In each and everyone of these paintings, the key is the actual process of how those paintings are birthed. That creative challenge is nothing short of miraculous.”
Originally from Morocco, Gerard immigrated to New York City when he was a teenager. After a long career in Miami, Gerard moved to Asheville in 2007. With a career that has spanned sixty plus years, he is known as a master of his craft.
