Five tips to drinking wine to relax and socialize with friends

Wine is a great drink with numerous health benefits when taken in minimal amounts. When socializing with friends it is recommended that you stay focused and in a lively mood. You need to use the time to socialize and share memorable moments in a relaxed mood, not become overly intoxicated by wine.

Most wine lovers, however, forget themselves and end up having a hangover the following day. This causes you to struggle to stay focused throughout the day. It’s good to have fun with friends as you drink wine and relax, but you should not overdo it and end up regretting it. Here are five tips that you can use when you are out drinking wine to relax and socialize with friends.

Drink light wine

Different types of wine having different alcohol content. Some have a lower alcohol percentage as compared to others so pick the wine carefully taking into consideration the alcohol content. If you are the type that gets drunk fast refrain from going for wine with high alcohol content and limit the amount you take. Take lighter brands that your body can handle.

If possible, settle on the maximum number of drinks that you will have before going out.  Use this as a guide so that you do not end up drinking more than you can. If you can stick to two to three glasses throughout the night then do so. Take a few sips so that you don’t empty your glass too fast.

Set up a drinking calendar

While most people prefer not to drink wine during the weekdays and only drink during the weekend, there are those who find it challenging to control themselves. However, it is best that you have specific days of the week that you can drink wine to relax if you cannot stop yourself. A drinking calendar will help you decide on the days when you can take wine and those that you cannot. Wine and relaxation go hand in hand if only you will be able to limit yourself and keep track of your drinking habit.

Drink in moderation

Like any other alcoholic drink, wine should be drunk in moderation. You cannot always be drinking wine, even without monitoring your intake. Yes, drinking wine has health benefits, but too much of it is not healthy. Too much drinking of alcohol will increase your chances of acquiring diseases such as liver diseases, an increase in calories among other health complications.

Don’t drink wine alone

When you are out with friends do not just drink wine the entire time. Alternate with water in between every drink or two to cut back on the alcohol and prevent dehydration. Drinking water will prevent you from having a hangover the next morning.

Eat healthy before drinking wine

Always ensure that your stomach is full before going out or taking any wine or any alcoholic drink. Take a healthy, balanced diet to maintain active metabolism and blood sugar levels. If possible, eat before going out so that you can keep track of what you are eating rather than eat at the bar or club.

 

While socializing with friends it can be a bit difficult to limit your wine intake. However, with the above tips, you will be able to effectively control your thirst for wine and drink wisely.
