Susan’s experience and attention to detail are also evident in the natural colored gemstones, pearls and diamonds she chooses for her designs. A G.I.A. Graduate Gemologist, she buys only well cut gemstones with excellent clarity and vibrant color. Most are cut by award-winning stonecutters she has known for years, who do an excellent job bringing out the maximum brilliance of each stone.

Gemstones are especially important to Susan, being a major source of her inspiration as an artist. “Whenever I find a stone I like, I design for it,” she explains. “The stone drives the design, leading me to do something that will complement it.”
