ROBERT SHAW – MAN OF MANY VOICES premiered in April of 2016, and will be screened  in  Asheville, NC on Thursday, October 20, 2106 at the Fine Arts Theatre under the sponsorship of the Arts Commission of The Cathedral of All Souls, Biltmore Village.

A  documentary film about the life and legacy of Robert Shaw, the music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, for over 20 years.  Shaw was able to create a world renowned, Grammy-winning orchestra and chorus in the heart of the South and alter Civil Rights history in the process.

The film, several years in the making, utilizes a vast archive of photo, sound and motion picture images  plus rich musical recordings from Shaw’s tremendously successful 60 year career. The film’s narrator is David Hyde Pierce.
